(Yahoo!) - It wasn't long ago that Matt Damon waxed nostalgic over his memories of cheering on his father in the iconic Boston Marathon, but it feels like ages. As the news continues to unfold regarding Monday's bombings, it seems the star's ties to the tragedy grow deeper and deeper.

At least one of the suspected Boston bombers went to Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, which happens to be the same institution Damon and Ben Affleck attended during their youth, ABC News reports.

If his page on the Russian social networking site Vkontakte is accurate, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the younger of the two brothers suspected in the attacks -- and the one who is still at large -- graduated from Cambridge Rindge in 2011. That same year, he won a prestigious $2,500 scholarship from the city of Cambridge (which was celebrated with a formal reception at City Hall) to put toward his higher education.

Though neither Damon nor Affleck have formally commented on this new development, it's safe to say that both must be feeling for their hometown.
