Country star Sam Hunt was arrested for DUI early Thursday in Nashville, TN. Police responded to reports of a driver traveling the wrong way near Ellington Parkway and Ben Allen Road. According to CNN when police caught up to Sam they observed him "having difficulty staying in the lane of travel" and he "crossed the center divide several times." He was then pulled over and after a field sobriety test was given was arrested for DUI. He had a blood alcohol content of .173. A court date is set for January 17th, 2020.
Sam released the following statement regarding his arrest:
"Wednesday night I decided to drive myself home after drinking at a friend’s show in downtown Nashville. It was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again."
