96.1 KXY is so proud of our friend Garth Brooks! Garth will receive the first George H.W. Bush Points of Light Award for Caring and Compassion.
The award was created to honor those who find solutions to the world's toughest challenges and exemplify the traits of the 41st president of the United States.
Garth is being honored for his good works, which include his Teammates for Kids initiative and his involvement with Habitat for Humanity.
Garth says "An award is only as good as its recipient – my hope and goal is to make the Bush family and the Honorary Chairs proud that Garth Brooks is the first name on this award for caring and compassion." The award will be given out Sept. 26th at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City.
