Morgan Evans put his own spin on a classic Bryan Adams hit before a performance in Idaho Falls, and shared the unique cover on Instagram. The Australian-born country singer-songwriter played an acoustic rendition of the 1980s anthem “Summer Of ’69,” a version that appeared unrecognizable to some commenters until they caught onto the iconic lyrics.

“I got my first real six-string/ Bought it at the five and dime/ Played it 'til my fingers bled/ Was the summer of '69/ Me and some guys from school/ Had a band and we tried real hard/ Jimmy quit and Jody got married I should've known we'd never get far”

Evans’ Instagram followers commented: “🙌Didn't recognize the song, and then I did! There's a whole new vibe to it!🙌,” “The Summer of 69, your version sounds Incredible Morgan ❤️🇦🇺,” “Classic song, awesome cover! Love it!,” and “True talent Morgan! Great job! 🔥❤️🙌,” to name a few.

Evans announced on Monday morning (July 24) that he’s extending the “Life Upside Down Tour” in the U.S., bringing Erin Kinsey as a special guest. Presale begins on Tuesday (July 25), and tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday (July 27). See the dates here:
