Megan Moroney Reveals Sophomore Era Details Following Whirlwind Year

Megan Moroney kicked off the countdown to her sophomore album on Thursday (May 2).

Moroney, 26, will release Am I Okay? this summer, she announced nearly a full year after releasing her powerful debut album (362 days, to be exact). Moroney’s inaugural album, Lucky, resonated deeply with listeners since its release last year, followed by a deluxe edition months later. The project included award-winning breakthrough single “Tennessee Orange,” “I’m Not Pretty,” “Lucky” “Girl in the Mirror,” “Traitor Joe,” “Sad Songs For Sad People” and other highlights throughout the track list. Since Lucky’s debut, Moroney has played shows with Brooks & Dunn, launched two headlining tours, performed at Stagecoach and recently started stadium shows on Kenny Chesney’s nationwide headlining trek throughout the summer. in the midst of it all, she’s been writing music for her highly-anticipated sophomore album and recording new music in the studio.

So far, Moroney has ushered fans into her sophomore era by releasing “No Caller ID” and “28th of June” earlier this year. Her summer anthem, “Indifferent,” is due to release on Friday (May 3). Moroney’s next album sees the country artist "sharpening her phenomenal songcraft and sharing even more of her personal story,” per a press release issued Thursday. Later this month, the Georgia-born singer-songwriter is one of the most-nominated artists at the upcoming 59th ACM Awards, including in the Song of the Year category (“Tennessee Orange”), the Music Event of the Year category (“Can’t Break Up Now” with Old Dominion) and others.

“I've been taking every ounce of free time that I have to write and be in the studio, so I'm just keeping the ball rolling,” Moroney told iHeartCountry in a December interview, teasing her forthcoming chapter. “I know that my fans are excited for new music, so try to keep them happy.”
