Singer-songwriters Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires have finalized their divorce more than a year after filing to call it quits. They were married for more than a decade.

The status of the case appeared as disposed on March 4, PEOPLE confirmed in a report on Tuesday (March 11) after obtaining online records. The publication also notes that Isbell has ben dating new girlfriend Anna Weyant, 29, for more than a year. Their relationship started in February 2024. It wasn’t immediately clear as of publication time on Wednesday (March 12) whether Shires is dating again after divorce.

Isbell, 46, and Shires, 43, got married in February 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. The two artists share one child together, daughter Mercy Rose, who was born in September 2015. Isbell filed for divorce from Shires in mid-December 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. They parted ways about a week and a half before the divorce filing.

Isbell said in February 2024 that the split had been “hard and sad,” but he’s “in a good place.” He told PEOPLE at that time: “We’re all getting along right now. It’s hard and sad, and I don’t enjoy it, but ... I’m in a good place. Mercy’s happy. She knows, no matter what, she’s going to be loved and safe and cared for.” Isbell added, as he spoke about his love songs, that “just because something ended doesn’t mean it failed.”

Previously, Isbell and Shires opened up about feeling “disconnected” from one another in their married. Shires told the Nashville Scene in 2022 while talking about one of her songs, “Fault Lines,” that “all of us have had turmoil within our respective marriages, and it was definitely coming from a place of vulnerability.” Isbell said during a previous interview with the New York Times that issues in the marriage felt, “more like, ‘We don’t know each other right now. We’re not able to speak the same language.’”
