On February 14th, restaurants are packed with romantic tables for two because Valentine’s Day has traditionally been a couples-focused holiday. But new research suggests that may be changing this year.

While there will still be plenty of partners dining out together that night, there may be a shift in celebrations, according to a new survey from OpenTable. The poll of more than 15-hundred adults across the country reveals:

  • Singles are saying “yes” to Valentine’s Day first dates - In the past, many would’ve taken a hard pass to a first date on this holiday, but now 61% of singles are willing to go out to dinner for a first date on February 14th. Men are more open to it than women (70% compared to 61%) and 70% of Gen Z say they’d do it.
  • Double dates are on the table, too - Having dinner with another couple on Valentine’s Day? Half (51%) of respondents say they’d be happy to do it.
  • Love at first bite - Some couples like to stick with familiar favorites for their holiday dinner, but 81% are planning to try a new restaurant this Valentine’s Day. More than a third (36%) want a “special occasion” spot to make the meal memorable.
  • And don’t forget about your BFFs - A quarter of those polled plan to celebrate their besties on Galentine’s Day (February 13th) this year.

Whether you’re going with your long-term partner or braving a first date, the place you have dinner can make or break the mood. OpenTable7 has just come out with their list of the Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in the county to help you find the ideal spot for your holiday reservation. It includes:
